Natural Cosmetics (2nd part)

We continue with articles dedicated to natural cosmetics. In this we start with the Capuchin.

CAPUCHINA (Tropaeolum majus)

Natural Antibiotic with proven efficacy. Both in its leaves, as in its flowers and fruits, there is a substance with antimicrobial action, which acts as a true bacteriostatic antibiotic, which prevents the reproduction of numerous pathogens.
The nasturtium is one of the few known superior plants, able to produce a natural substance with antibiotic action, which does not destroy the bacterial flora, does not cause sensitization or allergic reactions and has easy application.
All the parts of the plant contain a sulfur glycoside, glycothropeoline, which, by the action of mirosine, an enzyme contained in the same plant, produces, when crushed, a sulfur-containing essential oil of potent antibiotic action.
It favors the functions of the skin , due to its high sulfur content. Applied locally has a healing effect on wounds and ulcers. Regenerates and returns its smoothness to dry skin; but above all, it stimulates the hair bulb (the root of the hair), revitalizing the hair and even making it grow .
Its invigorating and invigorating effect is due, perhaps, to its high content of vitamin C.

CENTELLA ASIATICA ( Centella asiatica )

It is an exotic plant belonging to the Umbelifera family and used topically since ancient times in India and Madagascar for its great healing power. The asiaticósidos that have been described in it, regulate the content in fibroblasts orienting them towards the synthesis of the collagen. In addition this plant contains essential oils and acts as an anti-inflammatoryactivating blood flow.

COENZIMA Q10

It participates in cellular respiration and its lack causes the aging of the skin. In addition to the coenzyme contains a legume extract rich in proteins similar to collagen and elastin that will reinforce the delicate framework of the skin and avoiding the aggression of external agents (UV, heat, cold and dryness). It contains skin-related fats of great penetrating power that restore the lipid balance necessary for adequate cell renewal.

HORSE TAIL (Equisetum arvense)

Regenerates the tissues. The whole plant is very rich in mineral substances, especially in silicon and potassium. In addition, it contains a saponin (the equisetonin); flavonoids, to which it owes its diuretic effect; various organic acids; and resins. It has remineralizing, diuretic and depurative properties, hemostatic, and in external applications, healing .
The role of silicon in the tissues of the organism stimulates the regeneration of the collagen and elastin fibers that form them, and with age they lose consistency and elasticity. Silicon favors the regeneration or "reconstruction" of our tissues, because without it, the synthesis of collagen and elastin fibers (catalytic effect) can not be performed. Therefore improves skin flaccidity, and makes it recover a smooth and elastic, reducing stretch marks and wrinkles produced by aging , obesity or sudden weight loss, pregnancy, muscle tension, etc.

HAMMAMELIS (Hammamelis Virginiana)

It belongs to the family of the Hamamelináceas and is native to North America. Because of its content in tannins, glycosides and hamamelina, this plant has the property of rebalancing the hydrolipidic mantle of the skin by regulating the dilation of the pores (astringent effect), which decreases, as a result, the excess of fat. In turn, these components ensure a decongestive action that also acts as a venous-vasoconstrictor tonic, acting as a regulator of peripheral irrigation.

HARPAGOFITO (Harpagophytum Procumbens)

Powerful antirheumatic. More than 40 active components have been discovered in it, among which the monoterpene glycosides of the iridoides group stand out.To them it owes its analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic properties. It also has healing action, lowers the level of cholesterol and uric acid in the blood. This plant has anti-inflammatory and antirheumatic power both ingested and applied dermatologically, has depurative and antispasmodic actions. Among its many properties is to regenerate the elastic fibers that form the arterial wall but its healing power, applied to the skin is an excellent healing of all kinds of wounds and skin ulcers.
